Willpower ≠ Discipline.

I was talking to a friend the other day. A friend who is an entrepreneur who is ready to grow his business.
He is currently doing well. He has brought his current business to the income level he was at when he left his job. But he is ready for so much more.
He said, I know what I need to do. I just need to manage my time better and really do those things. I know how to time block. I created a great one to use. I just don’t stick to it.
My problem is I am just not disciplined enough. His wife chimed in, yeah he has really always struggled with discipline. Ah discipline.
That magical thing.
If you just had it, you could do what you really want to do. You could manage your time and follow your plans.
We think of it as an intrinsic trait that people have or don’t have. And we often equate it with using willpower to create a result.
The problem is this.
Willpower is limited. And it doesn’t last for the long term. What you really need is a process for dealing with the emotions and urges that get in your way.
Here is how the dictionary defines discipline: To train oneself to do something in a controlled and habitual way.
You need a training method that helps you act in a controlled way. And to act in a controlled way, you have to learn to manage your emotions.
You need to turn following your calendar into a habit that you do without really thinking about it. And to create a new habit you need to learn to manage your mind.
The way to do it long term is not by using willpower. You have tried that. Many times.
There is another way.
To manage your time you have to learn to manage your mind.
Let me teach it to you in my Masterclass.
